Description: It's a strange thing sometimes. Maybe it's just me, but there are times in life that things sit uncomfortably and you just let it be, easier not to seek out alternatives. So it was with plant hangers. Every year a good chunk of the local population dutifully go to the garden centres, buy their annual hanging plants and hang them around the place. It truly is gorgeous. A mass splash of colour all over the place as we shake off the winter and welcome in a few brief months of summer. It is of course a perennial thing that annuals die off. With plastic hangers being so plentiful and cheap the whole lot gets tossed out, dying plants, dirt, pot and all. That doesn't sit right with most of us I am sure, and yet every year there they all are sadly consigned to the sides of our streets, ready to be dumped in landfill. For me then, as my environmental consciousness is slowly but surely being roused (apologies to those warriors who have been screaming about this for decades) these Coconut Plant Hangers were a bit of a lightbulb moment. Whether the whole shebang is tossed out at the end of the season or the dead plants simply put into the composter, the harm to the environment is non-existent. The latter is recommended.
